HIGHLY ENGINEERED IN-HOUSE
All IE connecting rods are designed on and per engine application basis for factors such as cylinder pressure and rotating assembly mass. Many other brands simply change dimensions and do not engineer for the specific application at hand. FEA and computer simulation software is used to ensure the highest quality product.
MACHINED & INSPECTED IN USA
The two most important dimensions of a connecting rod are the tolerances and roundness of the crankshaft journals and wristpin bushings. IE Rods are machined in-house on our top-of-the line USA made Sunnen rod hone machine that ensures proper critical roundness. After machine work is finished, every rod set undergoes a strict quality control process to verify all tolerances, weight balance, bolt threads, and surface finishes.
OPTIONAL RIFLE DRILLING
Rifle drilling is a machining process that adds a small hole directly through the center of the connecting rod. This galley force-feeds oil pressure from the crankshaft journal through the rod to the wrist pin bushing. Providing extra lubrication greatly extends engine life and reduces wear on the wrist pin and wrist pin bushing. Rifle drilling upgrade is highly recommended for street cars that will be driven for extended miles.
VEHICLE FITMENT
This 144X20 connecting rod set will only work with factory-equipped pistons that use 20mm wrist pins and non-tapered rods. Many 1.8T 20V (06A) and 2.0T FSI (EA113) engines use a tapered rod, for these engines please see our drop-in rod options if you wish to keep factory pistons. Return Policy:
To initiate the return process, please call or email Strictly European Motors Ltd. We will provide you with a Return Merchandise Authorization number. The RMA number, receipt/Proof of Purchase, and item + original packaging must be included for a return to be valid.

All returns are subject to a 20% restocking fee. All items being returned must be in new, undamaged condition, and in the original packaging. Any item that has been installed on a vehicle will not be eligible for return. Customers have a 30 day (excludes Unitronic products [15 days] no exceptions ) window from the time of the original shipping date to return an item. Shipping costs are the sole responsibility of the customer. Strictly European Motors Ltd is not responsible for the shipping costs of returns, nor will the initial shipping cost of the item(s) be refunded or reimbursed upon return of said item. All items shipped with FREE shipping will still be subject to actual shipping charges being non-refundable.
We highly recommend insuring items for return, but that is left to the discretion of the customer. Strictly European Motors Ltd is not responsible for any lost, stolen or damaged items. Items can either be exchanged or refunded to the original payment method depending on preference. Exchanges are subject to product availability.
Certain items are non-returnable this includes but is not limited to: special order items, all Uni connect cables, electronic items (items with electrical components), tools, fluids of any kind, cleaning products and on sale/clearance item. These items cannot be returned for a refund or store credit. Under no circumstances will Strictly European Motors Ltd reimburse or pay for any parts/labor charges related to an incorrect, faulty, or defective product.
Please note, when ordering an item, it is incumbent upon the customer to choose the correct item or product for their vehicle. Please ensure you are providing the correct make, model, and year, as well as engine and drivetrain layout when ordering. Mix-ups happen, and Strictly European Motors Ltd prides itself on helping and providing information to customers when they occur. If you are unsure of whether an item will fit your vehicle, please contact Strictly European Motors Ltd and speak to a representative.
We are aware that glitches occur, and sometimes the wrong item is sent. If this occurs, contact us immediately to notify us of the discrepancy. We will work with you to sort out the issue.
Returned and Refused Shipments
All shipments refused by the receiver or returned undeliverable will be processed as a return according to Strictly European Motors Ltd return policy.
Miss-Shipped Orders
Strictly European Motors Ltd tries to ensure all customers receive the parts they have ordered, however mistakes do happen. In the event that Strictly European Motors Ltd ships the incorrect item, Strictly European Motors Ltd will provide a return label so the incorrect item can be returned. A return label will only be issued to the address the item was originally shipped to. Strictly European Motors Ltd will only send out the correct item once the incorrect item is received in the original packaging. Replacement items will only be shipped to the address on the original order. Strictly European Motors Ltd will not provide a refund or store credit for mis-shipped items. All mis-shipped items should be claimed within 3 days of receiving shipment. All mis-shipped items that were attempted to be installed or are not in the original package will be refused.

All orders placed on a weekend or holiday closure will be processed the next business day. Some items are noted as special-order or require lead-times, so please keep that in mind when ordering such products. To ensure the fastest delivery of your order, some items may be drop-shipped to you from a third party, or shipped in a separate package.

Strictly European Motors Ltd will make every attempt to ship your order using the method you selected at checkout but in some cases we will ship with an alternative shipping method without notice.
